Cape Breton and on to NFLD
We left Dartmouth around 07:00 for the 4 1/2 hour drive to the Sydney area on Cape Breton. Stopped in Antogonish at Peace by Chocolate to stock up. Great chocolate and we love supporting this company. The family that started it were refugees from Syria and had a chocolate company there. They ended up settling in Antigonish and started up Peace by Chocolate, out of their house originally. They have expanded but still stayed small. They have a few retail spots but mostly mail order. They sponsor other immigrants and support them when they arrive with employment to get them on their feet. This is the story of Canada!
Made our way onto Cape Breton, but due to an Id-10-T error by yours truely, we went to the wrong area to find our campground. Lesson learned (I hope), to always check the actual address of where you’re going. So another 45 minutes saw us get to where we’re too. Nice campground for a quick stay and only about 45 minutes from the ferry.
Since we left last week, we’ve had a knocking from the CV joints when we turn. Turns out the boots on the CV joints were not adjusted properly (again by me…) but a stop at Canadian Tire this morning for a few extra bits and a lovely flat parking lot at the ferry terminal and I think I’ve got it set up right.
On to the ferry now, and just getting ready to leave for the rock. More to come….
